Anastasia State Park offers programs to school groups FREE OF CHARGE!

Anastasia is dedicated to bringing quality educational programming to Florida school groups, which support grade level Sunshine State Standards.

Beach/Marsh Walks:  Ranger led walks are offered for all ages. Adapted to any age or comprehension level these hour long walks are informative for all.

Ranger Interpretive Programs:  First Friday of Each Month
Timed vary.  The first Friday of every month, Rangers or Volunteers will give a program on different topics from birs watching to star-gazing.  Call 904.461.2033 for more details.

School Environmental Education Programs:  Available for student groups.  Call 904.461.2035 to make a reservation.

Ancient Dune Trail:  Enjoy this 0.7 mile loop trail at Anastasia State Park.  This is your chance to take a quietr, meditative walk through the diverse habitat of the maritime hammock.  A map of the trail can be found at the Ranger Station.

Turtle Talks:  Learn all the facts about our mysterious friends while seeing real turtles.

Owl Program:  Ranger Charlie Corry will teach you about owls.

Bird Walk at Fort Mose State Park - Sunday, May 16th, 2010 - 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Come meet the birds at Fort Mose State Historic Park.  Led by a park volunteer, this fun, informative walk is open to the public and to birders of all levels.  We’ll walk the boardwalk, see the rookery, and visit the education building.  Please dress for the weather and bring binoculars and a field guide if you have one.  Walks are free; park entrance fee applies.  Fort Mose is on Highway 1, one mile north of Route 16.

Bird Walk at Anastasia State Park – Sunday, May 23rd, 2010 - 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Come meet the birds at Anastasia State Park.  Led by a park volunteer, this fun, informative walk is open to the public and birders of all levels.  The park is a great place to see shorebirds, warblers and more. Please dress for the weather and bring binoculars and a field guide if you have one.  Walks are free; park entrance fee applies.  Meet at Island Joe’s Shop at the end of the park road.

Campfire Programs: 
Guest speakers present their information to the public with the comfort of a campfire.

Junior Rangers:  Kids learn about the ecology of the park and how to be a ranger over the course of six weeks.
