January 19, 2010
Officers Attending:

1. Call to Order: Before calling roll outgoing President Linda Devlin called for a vote to officially swear in new slate of officers. Motion was made, seconded and voted on.
2. Roll Call: Board Members - Dennis Salvati, Michelle Wamser, Rita Roberts, Paula Rives, Shelley Stover (for Linda Craig), Adam Morley, Linda Devlin & Mopsy O’Brien.
3. Discussion and/or approval of 11/17/2010 meeting minutes.
4. Guest Speaker: “Going Green”
a. No guest speaker today.
5. Meeting Agenda:
a. Financial Report (Michelle)
1) Both CD’s have been rolled over.
2) Two proposed budgets were presented, budget “A” and budget “B”. The difference between the two budgets was $311.00 increase on budget “B” for the “Going Green” recycling program to cover the cost of recycling collected glass. The two budgets were voted on with budget “B” being the accepted 2010 budget.
3) Today’s balance is $5,730.44
4) Michelle reviewed the status of all funds, showing anticipated revenue and/or expenses for each program.
5) Adam will have to go to the bank and fill out paperwork to sign checks.
b. Membership Report
1) Sent out 19 renewal reminder emails on 11/17/2009
2) Next reminders to go out on 01/20/2010
3) 75 total Memberships in good standing
4) Above includes: 70 Individual/Family Memberships,
3 Lifetime Memberships, 1 Corporate Membership
& 1 Honorary Membership
5) 2 renewals since the 11/17/2009 meeting
c. Reports from Chairs
1) Nursery - Shelly - Hoping to purchase 100 to 200 seedlings. Waiting for report from biologist for recommendation of type of trees to plant. Chairperson needed for this program.
2) Road Safety -Shelly - Found grant to apply for to have road repaved. Chairperson needed for this program.
3) Going Green - Christina- Not present.
4) Recycling - Adam Morley & Linda Devlin - Weekly pick-up scheduled through May. Will work on new schedule to begin in June. Adam recommends stickers that inform that metal containers can be placed in recycling bins, also. Cost was included in revised budget. Motion was made, seconded and voted on to accept new recycling plan and passed. Adam looking for possible recycling bin for paper to be placed inside the park with monies collected to be used as income for the organization.
5) Fund Raisers
I. Playground - Linda Devlin - Nothing specific at this time.
ii. Endless Summer Run - Nothing specific at this time. Chairperson needed for this program.
iii. Other - Possible Beach Blast/Family Fun Day to be voted on. Chairperson and committee will be needed for this program.
6) Roadside Clean-up - Dennis - Scheduled for January 30, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
7) Historian Photographer - Ali - Not present at meeting.
8) Farmer’s Market - Rita - We can have table at the Market. Possibly starting out once a month until we can get more people to cover other weekends.
d. Florida State Park
1) Globalgiving.org - Shelly gave information to Jennifer. Waiting for her feedback.
2) Facebook - Shelly gave information to Jennifer. Waiting for her feedback.
3) Concert Parking in the Park - Shelly wrote up event request form and it’s free. We can open up the park when Amphitheater has concert and we can park cars. Money we make off this can go into Friends of Anastasia account. Parking was $5.00 per vehicle, may be going up to $10.00. We have 300 spaces and have to charge the same as the Amphitheater. Program still has to be voted on.
e. Old Business
1) Road clean-up - Already discussed.
2) Endless Summer run - Nothing at this time.
f. New Business
1) Sending Leo & Ali flowers for death in their family. Motion made, seconded voted on and passed.
2) Summer Beach Blast - Discuss at next meeting.
3) Friends website updated-please look over/comment.
g. Announcements
1) 02/20/10-Volunteer Luncheon @ Ravine Gardens.
2) Next meeting February 16, 2010.

2) The Friends of Anastasia logo is a representation of the Anastasia Island Beach Mouse which is an endangered species.

3) Friends meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (@ 5:30 PM) at the State Park office (near the Amphitheater), unless otherwise noted. All Friends members are welcome & encouraged to attend.
4) Who are the Friends of Anastasia? We are a non-profit Citizens Support Organization (CSO) for Anastasia State Park who support the park by providing programs & services that will enhance the experience of all who visit this special place.
