February 16, 2010

1. Call to Order
2. Roll Call: Board Members - Dennis Salvati, Michelle Wamser, Rita Roberts, Paula Rives, Linda Craig/Shelley Stover, Adam Morley, Linda Devlin - Resignation letter was presented from Linda Craig as secretary. Motion was made, seconded and voted yes to install Shelley Stover as new secretary for remainder of the 2010 year.
3. Discussion and/or approval of 1/19/2010 minutes. Motion was made, seconded and voted yes to approve.
4. Guest Speaker:
a. No guest speaker today.
5. Meeting Agenda:
a. Financial Report (Michelle)
1) Month of January interest from checking was $2.39.
2) Total income from new memberships (Jan. & Feb.) $75.00.
3) Total parking income $300.00 (to go to playground fund).
4) Refund from Junior Rangers $1.28.
5) Office Expenses check for $63.55 to Linda Craig for recorder.
6) Playground donation $293.00.
7) For a total cash balance of $6,332.89.
8) Motion was made, seconded and voted yes to add new category to budget "Operating Expenses" and fund that catergory with $400.00 from the operating budget to go to micellaneous items.
b. Membership Report (Dennis)
1) Twenty-four renewal reminders sent out on January 20, 2010. Next reminders will be sent out March 20, 2010.
2) 69 members in good standing.
3) 64 Individual/Family Memberships.
4) 3 Lifetime Memberships.
5) 1 Corporate Membership.
6) 1 Honorary Membership.
c. Reports from Chairs
1) Nursery - Shelly - Chairperson needed for this program. Shelly comparing prices for seedlings native to this area.
2) Road Grant -Shelly - Chairperson needed for this program.
3) Going Green - Kristina- Open for recommendations for list of goals and objectives.
4) Recycling - Adam & Linda Devlin - Glass company put bin in the park in January. $25.50 in aluminum cans was brought in. Adam submitted receipt for stickers to go on bin stating "Glass Only".
5) Fund Raisers
i. Playground - Linda Devlin - Would like to see income from Parking Events go to the playground fund. Would have to be voted on each time there is an event.
ii. Concert Parking in the Park - Mitch informed us that we would have to pay tax to the State on the money we collect. Next parking event is March 6, 2010. Some equipment will be needed such as orange vests and batteries for flashlights. Motion was made, seconded and voted yes to pay for these out of the Operating Expenses.
iii. Other - Beach Blast/Family Fun Day. Chairperson and committee will be needed for this program.
6) Roadside Clean-up - Dennis - Was on January 30, 2010 and was a tremendous success. 16 Friends, Members and Camp Hosts showed up in bad weather for this worthwhile event.
7) Historian Photographer - Norm - Will attend as many events as possible and take pictures to be posted on wesite.
8) Farmer’s Market - Rita - Dee, camp host, has volunteered to train people for this program.
d. Florida State Park - Shelly - Made request for Friends of Anastasia to donate 1 year membership to Flagler College Sports Expo scheduled for March 30, 2010.

e. Old Business
1) Globalgiving.org - May put Playground Fundraising on there. Linda Devlin in charge.
2) Facebook - Decided against it.
f. New Business
1) Donate a free membership to Flagler College Sports Expo, March 30, 2010 at the college. Motion was made, seconded and voted yes to donate membership.
2) Summer Beach Blast - Still working on theme. Co-Chairs will be Linda Devlin, Adam Morley and Michelle Wamser.
3) Shelley Stover voted in as new secretary.
4) Friends website update - Dennis - Dennis and Norm are working to ensure that our website is up to date with new and interesting enhancements. All members are encouraged to visit: www.friendsofanastasia.org.
5) Endless Summer Run Website - Dennis will follow up with Leo Seaman about renewal payments for web space and domain name.
g. Announcements
1) Next meeting March 16, 2010.

2) The Friends of Anastasia logo is a representation of the Anastasia Island Beach Mouse which is an endangered species.

3) Friends meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (@ 5:30 PM) at the State Park office (near the Amphitheater), unless otherwise noted. All Friends members are welcome & encouraged to attend.
4) Who are the Friends of Anastasia? We are a non-profit Citizens Support Organization (CSO) for Anastasia State Park who support the park by providing programs & services that will enhance the experience of all who visit this special place.
