Endless Summer Run/Walk-2013 (ESR) on Sept. 21st

Pickup Your Run/Walk Package on Sept. 20th (6:00 PM to 8:00 PM) & Save Time On Race Day..........

10K (6.2 mile) Run

Saturday morning, September 21st, 2013 at 7:30 AM - This 10k (6.2 mile) run (or 5k [3.1 mile]beach walk) through Anastasia State Park's beach, hammock, and saltmarsh takes you to some of St. Johns County's most beautiful terrain.

The race begins with a beach loop, traces pavement, dirt roads, and soil through the east nature trail and hammock loop. Runners will hit the pavement and trail again as they head to the marsh loop. The last leg of the run shoots the runners back down the main park road to the beach for a final loop on the sand.

This is a cross country run/walk and participants must be fit to run or walk on soft sand, uneven terrain, mixed pavement types, and hills with sun exposure, heat, and humitity, etc.

5k (3.1 mile) Beach Walk Run Available Again This Year

This year we are going to have a 5k (3.1 mile) Walk on the beach for anyone who does not want to run the 10k cross country run.

DID YOU KNOW? 

1)  Anastasia State Park offers programs to school groups FREE OF CHARGE!  Please contact Park Services Specialist Cristy Leonard on (904) 461-2035 or at email address - cristy.leonard@dep.state.fl.us

2)  The Friends of Anastasia logo is a representation of the Anastasia Island Beach Mouse which is an endangered species.

3)  Friends meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (@ 7:00 PM) at the State Park office (near the Amphitheater), unless otherwise noted.  All Friends members are welcome & encouraged to attend.

4)  Who are the Friends of Anastasia?  We are a non-profit Citizens Support Organization (CSO) for Anastasia State Park who support the park by providing programs & services that will enhance the experience of all who visit this special place.  See the "Facts about Friends" post in the Items of Interest section of this website for additional information about Friends.
