A Day with Nature

On June 28, 2008 Anastasia State Park will kick off “Florida Forever Anniversary” month with our second annual “A Day with Nature” event. This event will be attended by hundreds of nature enthusiasts like us. Florida State Parks mission is “to provide resource-based recreation, while preserving, interpreting and restoring natural and cultural resources.” This event will encompass all of our mission’s statement. We would like to invite you to participate in our event, by displaying your organization and interpreting nature and what people can do to make a difference. Activities will include family friendly informational booths, a marsh walk, kid’s nature art contest, bird walks, food, games and guest lectures. Our visitors will be able to roam Anastasia State Park day use areas, see the beauty of nature, and learn about the different environmental agencies in our community. This is a not-for-profit event and the cost to the public will be our normal entrance fee. You will be assigned a spot for your booth, which will depend on the size. We would like for each child to walk away with a small token from each booth, may it be a coloring page, poster or something pertaining to nature. Each child will be given a passport book that you can stamp with your organization’s emblem or a stamp of your choice.
